NELSON MANDELA
In the next few weeks coming up I'll be posting pictures of Legendary Icons that have left their part in the South African fashion industry, people I love and people that have influenced my style.
The first and rightfully so legendary icon is Nelson Mandela, the man is a genius in all ways possible. I remember back in the day when he was one of the first people that I saw wearing a suit and smile like no other man could and I'd promise myself I would do the same some day. Not to mention his crazy African print shirts that were crazy in the early to mid '90 and are still recognised as 'Madiba styled' shirts today.
His class and style is forever!!

THE SARTORIALIST AND THE SARTORIALISTS
Their Very Own “Pitti Wall”, Soweto, SA
I thought it was so charming when Kabelo showed me this photo The Smarties created of their very own “Pitti Wall,” like the wall I have shot numerous times during Pitti Uomo.
This was one of THE SARTORIALISTS post of us, we loved it especially all the love from the people who commented on the picture.
We do nonetheless like to clear something up, the Smarties and us are not in the same crew, we love The Smarties, they have paved the way for many of us to follow, we are good friends with some most them and we are working with some of them. We extend our apologies to them for the name confusion which happened at Mercedes Benz fashion week but all is good.

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK
He may be wearing a hat with an ITALIAN flag but he represents a SOUTH AFRICAN style that a few posses.
Day two,Kabelo reppin' Sam Lambert's ART COMES FIRST at the South African Mercedes Fashion Week, seen with Chu of Huisgenoot, the style is too classy. These two men are becoming not only my favourite in the country but world too.
Siyabonga Mashele and myself would also like to take this chance to apologise for not being able to make it to the event due to School but shout-out to Kabelo for holding it down and representing us and a part of what we believe in.
KABELO x SCOTT SCHUMAN 'THE SARTORIALISTS'
'About a year ago I was talking about my travel wishlist with my good friend Sam Lambert. I had mentioned visiting Africa and immediately Sam told me I had to meet this group of young men in Soweto that called themselves The Smarties.
Sam was right; these young men love fashion, design their own looks, and even sew the clothes themselves. Their look is a mix of their personal experiences and their dreams.
Kabelo, the young man pictured above, found this suit at a second-hand shop and and had it altered to his exact desires. He is very soft-spoken and sincere, it was quite touching when he told me that Lino is his hero and that he wore his “Italian flag” hat on that specific day to honor Luca Rubinacci’s birthday.' - Scott Schuman
This honestly made my week, seeing my friend and crew member, actually fam on the best fashion blog in the world, the comments that came from people around the world who are inspired by Kabelo's story made me even happier.
When we started with our shoots Kabelo, Siyabonga and I we had always said that one day we will work with the best in the world and here it is, a slow but moving dream reaching its destination. This is only the beginning of what is to come from us.
I am all sorts of proud of my brother Kabelo ..... this is God Engineering!

MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK
A few weeks ago I got a phone call from Kabelo Kungwane telling me we would be doing some thing somehow with Sam Lambert, Scott Schumann and Floyd of the Smarteez crew. Being in Cape Town away from Johannesburg is bull but anyway it's always good seeing my friend Kabelo carry our team Street Sartorialists with people we respect in this fashion industry. More pictures from The Sartorialist, Floyd and Sam will be up soon, for now it's just Sam and Kabelo.
